[0004] Field of the invention
[0005]
[0006] The present invention is part of the field of construction materials, in particular for furniture manufacture, fallas monuments, packaging material, among others.
[0007]
[0008] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0009]
[0010] Document CA2831629A1 refers to an element for construction from natural waste compounds (rice straw, wood sawdust, among others), a binder and water. The proportion in which these components are present is between 80-85% by weight of the natural waste compounds, 2-5% by weight of the paper pulp binder and 10-18% by weight of water. Both the rice straw and the wood sawdust are crushed and milled to obtain a grain size of between 0.5-2mm. The mixture after its stirring is molded under pressure for 30-45 seconds and at a temperature between 130-160 ° C. The product described in CA2831629 discloses a construction material made of rice straw and other materials of plant origin with a particle size of 0.5-2 mm, but does not comprise the components of the material of the present invention in the proportions that are required and The obtaining procedure requires high temperatures of 130-160 ° C that make it a more expensive and less environmentally friendly product.
[0011]
[0012] Document CN101152727A discloses a board for decorative purposes from agricultural straw and / or wood sawdust (65-75%), carboxymethylcellulose (5-8%) as adhesive-binder and water (10-20%) as components majority Once the components are mixed, they can be formed manually or in a machine under pressure. The product described does not comprise the components of the material of the present invention in the proportions that are required, but in addition it requires a drying temperature of between 60 and 100 ° C and would not be suitable for 3D printing.
[0013] US2015354143A1 discloses a board made from rice straw, wood sawdust between 0.2-5mm particle size, a natural polysaccharide arabinose or galactose and a resin type adhesive of polyvinylacetate, formaldehyde, melamine, or diisocyanate, among others . The product described does not comprise the components of the material of the present invention in the proportions that are required and the adhesives used are less respectful to the environment than the natural polysaccharide used in the present invention.
[0014]
[0015] Document CN104097246A refers to a panel containing rice straw (65-70%), wood sawdust (12.5-17.5%) and an adhesive (3.47-4.25%) of isocyanate type as main components. The products are mixed in an extruder and subsequently the plates are formed by molding at temperatures between 130-150 ° C. The product described does not comprise the components of the material of the present invention in the proportions that are required and the adhesives used are less respectful to the environment than the natural polysaccharide used in the present invention.
[0016]
[0017] Document CN106007617A discloses decorative panels formed from agricultural straw (50-70%), wood sawdust (20-25%), rice straw fiber (6-8%) and carboxymethylcellulose (3-5%) as main components. The product described does not comprise the components of the material of the present invention in the proportions that are required and also contains components such as 8% hydrochloric acid and pine tar, or zinc powder, which are not suitable for the environment.
[0018]
[0019] Document US2014053435A1 describes a device of identification labels for events, subject to textile garments, from rice straw and sawdust among others. The material is manufactured by injection molding.
[0020]
[0021] In view of the aforementioned state of the art, there is still a need for a material that, in addition to taking advantage of residues such as vegetable straw, is more respectful of the environment, both because of the nature of its components and because of its production procedure. In addition, there is a need for suitable materials for both the manufacturing of objects by both molding, extrusion, and 3D printing.
[0022] The material of the present invention overcomes these drawbacks of the state of the art to be its components from the recycling and also non-toxic components, and not be necessary at any time the use of heat energy (furnaces) for its preparation. Thus, the energy saving in its production is greater.
[0023]
[0024] To these advantages associated with the materials used in the material of the invention and its method of obtaining, the fact of being a suitable material for 3D printing, and therefore suitable for new technologies, in addition to the materials mentioned in the previous documents.
[0025]

[0095]
[0096] Compositions of the material with a lower percentage of vegetable straw are more suitable for use in 3D printing.
[0097]
[0098] Among the woods that are useful according to the invention as raw material for the component called "wood sawdust", any type of wood (hard or soft) can be used in general, and in particular those that are known in the context of hardwood and coniferous trees , according to the building technical code (CTE), but preferably low density woods are used, such as raft, pine, poplar, willow, poplar, elm, cypress, fir, cedar or high density such as oak, beech, chestnut, walnut, teak, olive, mahogany, cherry, ash or combinations of them. The low density makes the resulting product weigh less. This issue is important to lighten the weight of the material in certain applications, for example, its use in the manufacture of "ninots" of the faults, where it is crucial that they are very light, and therefore, that the wood used is also very light.
[0099]
[0100] Among the vegetable straw, any type of vegetable straw, for example wheat straw, oats, rye, barley, rice or combinations thereof, preferably rice straw, are considered to be useful materials for the material of the present invention.
[0101]
[0102] Among the advantages of the material object of the invention it can be mentioned, for example, that, in the case of the use of rice straw, a reuse of this agricultural residue is achieved. For example, in the case of rice straw - very abundant in Mediterranean areas such as Levante - it is avoided that it burns in the rice fields and with its recycling in the material of the invention can be burned only, for example, in the Fallas monuments, also avoiding the burning of other toxic materials.
[0103]
[0104] Among the alcohols that can be used in the material of the invention are alcohols that are cheap and non-contaminating, such as propyl, isopropyl, ethyl, or combinations thereof, preferably isopropyl and ethyl.
[0105] As the weak acid, for example, acetic, citric, boric, carbonic, phosphoric acid and mixtures thereof can be used. Preferably acetic acid is used for its cost and pertinent handling.
[0106]
[0107] The construction material of the invention can also comprise additives, for example, aerating agents, fluidizers, flame retardants, flame promoters, dyes, among others. The percentage of additives can be, for example, between 0.01 and 3% by weight of the material for construction, preferably 0.1-2% and more preferably 0.2-1%.
[0108]
[0109] According to a particular embodiment, some of the physical properties of the material of the present invention are the following:
[0110]
[0111] Average density: 0.67 gr / cm3
[0112] Compression: average of 12.52 Kg / cm2
[0113] Flexion: (Test of break to three points) average of 13.64 Kg / cm2
[0114]
[0115] The material of the invention is a paste, which can be preserved, wrapped, for example, in a polyethylene bag, the vacuum being made, and is available for use even 1 month after its manufacture. It can be stored at room temperature, without being exposed to sunlight.
[0116]
[0117] The CMC, or methylcellulose, by itself has little binding capacity and needs a subsequent heat treatment in furnace and pressure. However, in the material of the invention when joining it with the natural polysaccharide, it is possible to avoid this thermal treatment and pressure (energy and process savings) since the polysaccharide does have a great binding power.
[0118] The polysaccharide alone does not have the workability and the proper viscosity to mold or print in 3D.
[0119]
[0120] The natural polysaccharide gives the final material the binding power during the process of molding, extrusion or 3D printing in which the material can be used, speed of drying and finally the resulting mechanical capacity after 48 hours have elapsed (which CMC can not provide ). Therefore, one of the advantages of the invention is that very good flow properties are achieved, viscosity, among others, in the material, thanks to the synergy between the CMC, or the methylcellulose, or its mixture, and the natural polysaccharide, preferably, gum arabic.
[0121]
[0122] Among the advantages of the material of the invention, it can be mentioned that it is a material that includes recycled components such as vegetal straw, ecological, combustible and biodegradable. They are also remarkable advantages that is a material that serves to work in molding, and specifically manual molding, extrusion and manufacturing in 3D printing.
[0123]
[0124] The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the material defined above.
